Assassin's Creed: Unity revealed

Ubisoft has released a trailer for the new Assassin's Creed game, Assassin's Creed Unity. The reveal comes just a couple of weeks after a leaked image of what is believed to be the protagonist of the new Assassin's Creed was posted online, hinting that the new game is deep in development.
It seems that Ubisoft has held its hands up and decided to get out ahead of any further leaks. The publisher released a brief teaser confirming the new game's name and the era in which it will be set.
From the looks of things, Assassin's Creed: Unity will be set in Revolutionary France. The trailer shows several winding streets in the French captial, a guillotine and the new, darkly cowled protagonist standing above a baying mob in front of a scaffolding just outside of Notre Dame.
The trailer came accompanied with statement from Ubisoft, saying;
"We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years and although we weren’t quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand!  So here’s a true first look at in-game footage from Assassin’s Creed Unity. Stay tuned - we'll have many more exciting details for you in the months ahead."
According to the trailer, Assassin's Creed: Unity is scheduled for release 'Holiday 2014' and will land on PC, Xbox One and PS4 consoles.
