FIFA 15 Release Date Set In September 2014 Boasting With Graphics And Liveliness

Fifa15releasedate
We expect that Fifa15 will release in the third fiscal quarter of 2014, which would be September in EA Sports calender. EA sports also claimed that FIFA 15 will be reskin of FIFA 13 and FIFA 14 but it will have its own wishlist.
FIFA 14 features are fab but have mixed reviews. There is a drop of mini leagues and tournaments but there some very lovely features such as ULTIMATE TEAM which remains unbeaten.
Fifa15Release DateIt is expected that FIFA 15 graphics will be much sharper, smoother, and more detailed, with everything from player likenesses to the texture. Peter Moore EA COO, also said in its speech that with Fifa14 it’s just the beginning of an era which will change the FIFA fans parameters of expectations.
FIFA is considering the demands of FIFA fans. For this FIFA on its forum is demanding the wishlist and innovative ideas of FIFA fans. FIFA15 is expected to have features like mini leagues and pro accomplishments that don’t vanish if the opponent team quits the game.
Building up your Pro is a tedious  task, largely because if your opposing team quits your Pro Clubs match then any progress you’ve made towards upgrading him is erased. This makes it difficult to work towards the shooting accomplishments, as scoring multiple goals in a match will often lead to your opponents opting out before the final whistle, rendering your efforts useless.
However, reports claimed that EA Sports is adding more suppliers to increase the availability of FIFA15 due to its strong demand and experts also believe that all research made from FIFA13 and 14 will be implemented in FIFA15.
The FIFA15 release date is still unconfirmed and expected to release in September 2014. There are speculations that the unveiling will happen early next year

EA Sports wants its 2014 World Cup game to appeal to all, not just FIFA fans

"We don't have limitless resources. We wanted to bring the game to as many people as possible and right now that was the 360 and PS3." That's what 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil's lead producer Mat Prior had to say about the title not launching on Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Which is to say, EA's leaning on console-adoption numbers as the primary reason for the lack of a proper game on Microsoft's and Sony's newest consoles. Instead, EA Sports plans to bring some "engaging" World Cup-themed content to FIFA 14's Ultimate Team mode, in the hopes that'll be enough to satisfy disappointed Xbox One and PS4 owners.
If you look at the numbers, EA Sports' decision becomes clear. Currently, neither the Xbox One nor the PlayStation 4 has reached the 10 million mark in sales, and the two aren't available everywhere. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 can be found in many homes across the globe, including a large number of developing countries. "Emerging markets were important to making this decision," Prior told Engadget. "We wanted to create the best game we could that could reach as many people as possible." For those who own a last-generation system, this is great news, since the team behind 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil was given the task of "setting a laser focus on building the highest-quality game" for these two consoles. And it shows.
By placing all its eggs in one basket, EA Sports was able to create a game that's visually stunning, with fully rendered 3D crowds and a detailed presentation meant to evoke a real-life World Cup. "It's the most atmospheric game we've ever made," said Prior. Naturally, you can expect to see improved gameplay in comparison to FIFA 14 and many different game modes to choose from, both online and offline. This was also part of the reason the publisher made it a standalone title and not downloadable content, as was the case for the last country-focused game, UEFA Euro 2012. "We wanted it to be for people who haven't played FIFA before," Prior said. "The World Cup is such a massive event that it needed to have its own game and DLC wouldn't have allowed it to have all the features it does."
"We wanted to capture the fun, excitement and atmosphere to resemble the World Cup."
As part of its efforts to appeal to the masses, 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil has a new Beginner Mode, which aims to make it easy for anyone to pick up a controller and face very little challenge from the AI. And then there are modes like Online World Cup, Road to Rio, Captain Your Country, Story of Qualifying and Scenarios, all of which you should be familiar with if you're an avid FIFA player. Yes, EA is hoping to "attract casual gamers" and to "reach the 50 percent who don't play FIFA," but that doesn't mean hardcore fans of the franchise won't enjoy it. It's still classic FIFA, with an added touch of Brazilian lifestyle transmitted into the game.

Why the future for gaming is smartphones

Why the future for gaming is smartphones
In 2013, gaming is more advanced and more popular than ever, but it’s not PlayStation Portables or Nintendo DSs we’re playing on – PlayStation Vita, the PSPs anticipated successor has been much less popular than anticipated -  it’s our smartphones!
The appeal of smartphones is that they combine two or more devices into just one; why carry a PDA or a camera when you could just carry a smartphone? The same can be said for gaming.
Here we take a look at the reasons why smartphone gaming as become so popular, as well as highlighting some top picks and new technologies – so try to stay off Angry Birds for five minutes, it’ll be worth it!
High tech features
While an Android or iPhone might not pack as much of a punch as consoles when it comes to hardware power, their high-tech features have become essential enablers of games which otherwise wouldn’t work, location-based activities using GPS tracking for example.
Accessories
Accessories created specifically for, or utilised by, smartphones have vastly increased the capabilities of the mobile gamer. Products like the PowerA Moga – a controller which claims to unleash the gaming power of your Android and create a console-like experience on the go – or the iController which promises to do the same for iPhone, have brought a whole new level to handheld gaming.
Don’t forget your basic accessories either, things can get a little intense when you’re gaming so make sure you invest in a good screen protector, they’re available online at Mobile Madhouse. You wouldn’t want to smash your smartphone now that it’s your essential portal to the gaming world!
Sociability
Smartphone gaming is also becoming increasingly social; Android’s Ingress for example, a hugely popular real-time, alternative-reality gaming app hosts a huge online community, and showcases the capabilities of Android

Is Flappy Bird the new Angry Bird?

Is Flappy Bird the new Angry Bird?
Vietnamese developer Dong Nguyen has created a new cash cow for himself. Flappy Birdis not just currently sitting at the top of the list on Apple App Store and Google Play, but has been generating on average of $50,000 per day from in-app ads. The Flappy Bird game was launched back in May 2013.
Unless you have been living in cave, Flappy Bird is a game which requires players to tap on the screen to flap the wings of a tiny and pixelated bird to avoid those pipes that act as hurdles. If you hit any of those green pipes, the game is over. Now you may think that it sounds easy but personally after trying the game out, one can simply spend over an hour just to successfully fly past 5 of those fat pipes. The app has been downloaded 50 million times, and has accumulated over 47,000 reviews in the App Store up to date.
While other successful mobile game titles on the App Stores spent months to develop it, Nguyen did it by spending a few nights coding after he got home from work. The app works with Game Centre and Google Play Access, allowing players to compete and compare scores with friends, including the ability to share scores via Twitter and Facebook.
According to an interview with Nguyen with The Verge, he said “The reason Flappy Bird is so popular is that it happens to be something different from mobile games today, and is a really good game to compete against each other. People in the same classroom can play and compete easily because [Flappy Bird] is simple to learn, but you need skill to get a high score.”
Nguyen has no plans to change or even update the game at the moment. “Flappy Bird has reached a state where anything added to the game will ruin it somehow, so I’d like to leave it as is” he says. A sequel may be forthcoming but not at this time. When asked why he added ads to the game, “I want to make an ads-based game because it is very common in the Japanese market — mini games are free and have ads,” was his response.

The Last of Us coming to PS4 this summer with improved graphics

PlayStation 4 port of highly acclaimed title The Last of Us will launch sometime this summer, a Sony spokesperson has let slip. Talking on CNN Turk's Multiplayer gaming show, a PlayStation exec claimed the port will have better graphics than the PS3 version, and will be available both digitally and physically. PS4 copies will apparently include the Left Behind single-player DLC, so newcomers get the whole story upfront, and diehards get to replay a prettier rendition. Additional single and multiplayer content is in the works, too, but even a straight port should keep most superfans happy while they wait for the movie.

Ridley Scott is working on a Halo project for Microsoft

Remember that Halo film that wasn't happening? Microsoft representatives have confirmed that the old rumors are true: a Halo feature is in the works, and it's being produced by Ridley Scott (Blade Runner, Alien, Prometheus, Call of Duty Elite: Friday Night Fights). Unfortunately, the confirmation is intentionally vague, offering no other information save for the project's director (Battlestar Galactica's Sergio Mimica-Gezzan) and a promise that it won't overlap with Spielberg's TV series. It's described as a "digital feature project," which implies that the production will end up skipping the box office entirely. Well, either that, or Microsoft is just really excited about the kind of cameras it's using. According to Variety, it could be something similar to the Halo: Forward Unto Dawnshort-form episodes. We'll find out pretty soon, regardless -- the project is set for release sometime later this year

Cut the Rope 2 finally arrives on Android

Mobile gaming fans will be happy to hear that Cut the Rope 2 has finally arrived on Android.
Cut the Rope is a game where players need to feed Om Nom by cutting ropes and relying on physics to drop food.
The Android version features 120 levels, new in-game power-ups, an extra "fruit" mission for every level, a new interactive map, and more.
"Our Android fans have been eagerly awaiting Cut the Rope 2 since the iOS game first became available in December," said Misha Lyalin, CEO of ZeptoLab in a release.
"We have been working hard to bring new content and challenges to this free version, while maintaining the all of the fun and simplicity that made Cut the Rope 2 great as a paid game."
Cut the Rope 2 was released for iOS devices in December costing $0.99 on the App Store. The Android version is likely to include in-app purchases considering its going for free.
Apart from announcing the Android version, developer ZeptoLab revealed its Cut the Rope games have reached roughly 500 million downloads.
The popular puzzle game is also set to launch on the Amazon Appstore on March 30.
Cut the Rope 2 is available to download for free on Android at the Google Play Store.

PS4 may soon play your favorite PS1 and PS2 games in native 1080p

GTA III HD In CarDying to play classic games likeViewtiful Joe or Tekken 3 on your PS4? Well, you might just be in luck. A recent rumor has indicated that Sony is working on PS1 and PS2 backwards compatibility for the PS4 — sidestepping the need for game streaming completely. Even better, a number of “select titles” are supposedly running natively at 1080p.
Ahsan Rasheed, a noted insider in the gaming industry, made a number of tweets today claiming that Sony plans to support PS1 and PS2 titles on its latest console. While it’s no surprise that Sony is working on bringing its back catalog to the PS4, it was largely assumed that the PlayStation Now game streaming service would fill that role. Instead, we might have access to the entirety of the PS1 and PS2 library running on the PS4′s hardware itself. It’s easy to imagine Sony selling emulated classic titles on PSN, but this could also mean that PS1 and PS2 game discs could be played seamlessly.

Nvidia reveals new $3,000 graphics card

Nvidia has unveiled the GeForce GTX Titan Z graphics card at its annual conference. And, despite offering serious next-level gaming, it comes with a price tag of $3,000. Ouch.
The card has a dual-GPU - basically two processers - with two Kepler units and 12GB of dedicated framebuffer memory. In simple terms, this is the most advanced card the famed graphics company has yet produced.
Even though there's no getting around that $3,000 cost for us mortal gamers, Nvidia says the Titan Z will help usher in multi-monitor 5K (5,120 x 2,700) gaming in the future.
Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang unveiled the Titan Z in a presentation focused on gaming but also aimed at power-hungry users looking to render 3D models, create animations or mine for Bitcoin.
It works out cheaper in terms of raw performance than Nvidia's professional grade Tesla cards, but anyone buying one purely for gaming will be in for a shock when their credit card statement comes through.
The $3,000 price point in the US translates to £1,800 here in the UK. Factor in VAT and other taxes, and you could be looking at £2,000 for a single graphics card - that's Mac Pro territory.

Minecraft creator dumps Oculus after Facebook purchase

Minecraft

Persson – better known by his Minecraft name Notch – tweeted that the company had been working with Oculus to bring the game to the headset.
However, its purchase by Facebook had killed that.
“We were in talks about maybe bringing a version of Minecraft to Oculus. I just cancelled that deal,” Persson wrote on the micro-blogging site. “Facebook creeps me out.”
The move is likely to be a major blow to Facebook and Oculus. Facebook bought virtual reality firm Oculus for around $2 billion. The deal was announced last night.
Public reaction to the move has been overwhelmingly negative. It is unclear if this will be an isolated incident or whether other Oculus Rift developers will consider pulling support.

Valve's Portal heading to Nvidia Shield

According to an Nvidia blog post, The team behind Nvidia Shield are teaming up with Valve to bring the critically acclaimed puzzle game Portal to the handheld system.
The FPS/puzzle hybrid game has created something of a new genre - a concept that's a bit hard to wrap your head around without actually seeing it in action.
Portal will land on Nvidia's Android-based Shield device sometime in the near future, according to yesterday's announcement.
"Our companies have a strong history working together and we’re looking forward to Portal‘s arrival on Shield," said Valve's Doug Lombardi.
However, it sounds like other Android devices might be out of luck as Valve says it isn't discussing: "additional devices and/or device requirements at this time."
Still, it's good to see Nvidia jump off diving board and into the waters of mobile gaming.

Assassin's Creed: Unity revealed

Ubisoft has released a trailer for the new Assassin's Creed game, Assassin's Creed Unity. The reveal comes just a couple of weeks after a leaked image of what is believed to be the protagonist of the new Assassin's Creed was posted online, hinting that the new game is deep in development.
It seems that Ubisoft has held its hands up and decided to get out ahead of any further leaks. The publisher released a brief teaser confirming the new game's name and the era in which it will be set.
From the looks of things, Assassin's Creed: Unity will be set in Revolutionary France. The trailer shows several winding streets in the French captial, a guillotine and the new, darkly cowled protagonist standing above a baying mob in front of a scaffolding just outside of Notre Dame.
The trailer came accompanied with statement from Ubisoft, saying;
"We have been working on the new Assassin’s Creed for more than three years and although we weren’t quite ready to show you our full vision for a next-gen only AC, it seems Abstergo are trying to force our hand!  So here’s a true first look at in-game footage from Assassin’s Creed Unity. Stay tuned - we'll have many more exciting details for you in the months ahead."
According to the trailer, Assassin's Creed: Unity is scheduled for release 'Holiday 2014' and will land on PC, Xbox One and PS4 consoles.

Fallout 4: Release date, news, gameplay, plot and more

Fallout 3

The Fallout franchise is easily one of the biggest and best RPG series of titles in the history of gaming. The last entry in the franchise, Fallout 3, is arguably one of the best games of all time.
Between its sprawling, retro-fitted post-apocalyptic landscape, its engrossing story and its unique and compelling shooter mechanics, Fallout 3 is one of the more addictive games of the last generation. You could literally lose days playing it.

Like all committed Vault Boys and Girls, T3 has been keeping a weather-eye open for any signs of a sequel to Bethesda Softworks’s open-world beast. So it’s with no small amount of joy we uncovered news that Fallout 4 may well indeed be in the pipeline...

Fallout 4: Earliest signs

The existence of Fallout 4 was first confirmed when Fallout fan site The Vault noticed Bethesda had registered a trademark for the game with the Office Of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM).

The OHIM, incidentally, has been the source of several high profile leaks for Triple A video games, due to the fact that gamers trawl it for news of games they hope are currently in development.

When reached out to for comment, Bethesda remained stoically silent. However, long-time observers will note that it didn’t issue a flat-out denial, as has been the case up until now.

Fallout 4: Teaser Site
UPDATE:
Prepare for some bad news; it turns out that the  thesurvivor2299.com is an elaborate hoax. According to a piece published on Edge's website, the creator of the site has admitted it has no connection to any title that Bethesda may be working on. Still, props to the hoaxer! They fooled pretty much everyone.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Gaming website IncGamers posted a link to a site that popped up in recent days, bearing the Vault-Tec logo and a countdown. The countdown is set to expire on December 11th, 2013.

The site also emits a ‘beeping’ noise, which on closer inspection, turned out to be a repeated Morse code. The fans over on the Fallout subreddit have already decoded it and apparently it reads: “CQ CQ CQ DE OZ PSE AS”.

While that might not mean much to anyone who isn’t a fan of the series, according to IncGamers, it could translate as: ““Calling Any Station, Calling Any Station, Calling Any Station, This is/From OZ (Oscar Zulu), Please Wait.”

This could refer to the Signal Oscar Zulu radio signal that players can pick up on their PIP Boy in Fallout 3.

Bethesda hasn’t officially confirmed that the site is in fact a teaser for Fallout 4. However, as IncGamers points out, one would imagine that the Bethesda trademarks would have to be removed from the site if it wasn’t on the level.

One would be right. A little more digging by Sixth Axis has revealed that the site was registered by ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softwork.

Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4 now available by subscription for $19, headed to OS X and more

Unreal Engine 3 set the standard for games last generation, powering breakout franchises like Gears of War and Mass Effect. We don't know if Unreal Engine 4 will have the same impact, but today's move by Epic Games to massively democratize this game engine is certainly a step in the right direction. Today, Unreal Engine 4 is going subscription: For $19/month you get, "access to everything, including the Unreal Editor in ready-to-run form, and the engine's complete C++ source code hosted on GitHub for collaborative development." That's according to Epic Games head Tim Sweeney, who spoke at a GDC event this morning. Any game published commercially must also pay 5 percent of gross profit to Epic (which could get lucrative very quickly for Epic). It's a move aimed directly at the evolving world of contemporary game development, where indie hit-makers like Jonathan Blow take the stage at Sony's PlayStation 4 unveiling in place of triple-A studios. We were shown a simple Flappy Bird clone for iOS, for instance, as an example of the flexibility of UE4 (the demon lord seen above is an example of the other end of the engine).
Beyond the subscription service and full access to the source code (which is a big move unto itself), Unreal Engine 4 is getting OS X support. There's also evidence in the source code that Epic's working on Oculus Rift, Linux, Steam Machines and HTML5 support. But we already kinda knew all that, right? So we asked Tim Sweeney for a deeper dive into today's news and what it means for Epic Games as both a game engine maker and a game studio.

Oculus Rift motion sickness concerns

Oculus Rift preview

The Oculus Rift virtual reality gaming headset may present First-Person-Shooter (FPS) designers with motion sickness issues, unless the technology is changed, according to developer on the game Elite Dangerous.
Speaking to TrustedReviews, Elite Dangerous Designer Tom Kewell said that unless FPS players will continue struggling to adjust to the experience of playing with the headset is the Oculus Rift remains at its current levels as a dev-kit.
“Unless the technology for Oculus changes, anyone developing a first person shooter game for the Oculus Rift is going to have to have a bit of a think about how they’re going to solve the [motion sickness] issue,” Kewell said to TrustedReviews. “If you’re playing the game where the fiction is that you’re static in a cockpit, you’ve got a much easier task in that regard. It just doesn’t seem to affect people as much.”
“There’s an experience where if you’re sat down with a controller, and that’s the context of the game, it makes sense to your inner eye. The experience you’re getting from your eyes isn’t too dissimilar to the experience that you’re expecting via the context of the game.”

Elite Dangerous is a sci-fi open-world game in which players pilot a space fighter in zero-gravity dogfights. The Oculus Rift gives players the impression they're sitting in the ship's cockpit. For this reason, Kewell said that some player input could induce vertigo.
“To be honest, if you’re pulling a rather stomach churning manoeuvre in a ship, then a little bit of motion sickness from that almost enhances the experience," Kewell told TrustedReviews. "Not entirely sure we want people throwing up on the cockpit or anything though.”

Exclusive: Death coming to The Sims FreePlay next week

Death coming to The Sims FreePlay
For a free to play game to truly stick around over the years, it needs lots of updates. That’s just what Electronic Arts has done with The Sims FreePlay, pushing out regular updates with new content every few months. Just last month, they released the Golden Age update which introduced teenage and senior citizen Sims to the game.
Next week, The Sims FreePlay will take things even further. The game’s next update adds Life Dreams for each Sim to work towards. And once they grow old enough, the Sims will even be able to die and leave behind a legacy for future Sim generations. It’s quite a big change for The Sims FreePlay, and Android Central has an exclusive preview video and details to help you prepare for the change.

Aging and Death

Starting with the new update, Sims will age naturally for players level 24 and above. If you’re just beginning to play the game, aging won’t affect you until you reach level 24. After that, Sims age a tiny bit every time they complete an action. This applies to Sims of all ages, from infants to senior citizens.
Only Sims that you actively play with will age, so they won’t just get old and die if you take a break from the game and come back to it. Senior citizen Sims will eventually be visited by the Grim Reaper. The Sim he visits will die, giving the player an XP bonus as consolation.
There are ways to slow down and pause aging for important Sims, though Electronic Arts hasn’t shared the details on what those ways will entail. I predict it will cost Life Points (the game’s premium currency) or simply require an In-App Purchase.

Life Dreams, Personalities, and more

The Sims FreePlay Gaming Arcade
In a previous update, the developers removed the ability to assign personalities to Sims. Personalities will return in the new update and can be assigned by the player. Initially there will be two personalities to choose from: Sporty and Geek. More will come in the future.
Just like the console and PC Sims games, Sims now have Life Dreams based on their personalities. Actions, hobbies, and careers specific to that personality will progress the Life Dream and bring the Sim closer to happiness. Sims who complete their Life Dreams will leave behind Life Orbs when they die. These add XP bonuses for completing actions pertaining to the deceased Sim's personality type.
Life Orbs play another, even more important part as well. Energy from Life Orbs can be spent on community lots for each personality. The Sports personality can unlock a beach, where they’ll be able to engage in the new hobbies of snorkeling and shell collecting.
The Geeky Sims will work towards building my favorite location in the game: a Gaming Arcade. The arcade has three fun new hobbies: arcade games, pinball, and skill tester. Those hobbies require the new locations to be upgraded, which costs Life Orbs. Players will actually want some of their Sims to grow old and die in order to unlock the recreation areas and their features. It’s just like wishing for an inheritance in real life!
The primary focus of the Life Dreams update is to give players new ways to play and new goals to work towards. With the new aging and life dream mechanics and new areas to unlock and upgrade, The Sims FreePlay should certainly have some new life (and death) in it very soon.

What I'm playing this week: Granny Smith

Granny Smith

An oldie that's still as challenging as it ever was

We're always on the lookout for the hot new Android games, but sometimes you just can't beat an oldie. I've downloaded a ton of games over the years, but just recently I've been drawn back to Granny Smith. And you know what? It's still just as challenging to play as it was the first time.
I'm a big fan of casual, pick up and play mobile games. For serious gaming I still turn to my consoles. When I'm playing on my mobile devices I like something that's not so serious and a little more casual. Granny Smith fits into that perfectly while still providing enough of a challenge that you actually want to beat it.
The premise of the game is straightforward. You play as a granny on rollerskates. The objective is to race against a young hooligan through a series of increasingly challenging levels collecting apples and coins before your opponent.
The game controls are equally straightforward. You've a button to jump and a button to hold your cane up in the air to zip line down various parts of levels. And that's it. Occasionally you'll be presented an option to throw a baseball to smash a hole in something, but your main purpose is to make sure granny jumps and grabs on at the right times.
The graphics are delightful, and it's fantastically comical watching an elderly lady doing front flips and falling down massive drops. All while wearing roller skates. There are unlockable characters, like a dog, but all-in-all Granny Smith is a superb mobile game that is still massive fun to play and well worth spending the $1.99 asking price.

Titanfall review

xl_Titanfall Screen 6-624.jpg

When Infinity Ward released Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare seven years ago, the studio permanently altered the FPS battlefield, spawning a franchise juggernaut that has dominated the genre ever since...
Since then, the shadow cast by CoD has had a stagnating effect on the FPS genre. The ground broken by Call of Duty 4 has become a template, adhered to slavishly by the majority of its sequels and competitors. Although many FPS games have succeeded in making money by following the roadmap laid out by Infinity Ward, there’s been as distinct lack of innovation as a result.

One thing did change though. In 2010, Vince Zampella and Jason West - two of Infinity Ward’s chief creators - left the company and started anew in the form of Respawn Entertainment. This week sees the release of their first game, Titanfall, an FPS that promises to redefine the genre once again.
And with Xbox dropping the price of the Xbox One to coincide with Titanfall's launch date, it seems Microsoft are going all in with Respawn on this one. Can Titanfall make Xbox One an essential purchase where Forza Motorsport 5,Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 have failed? Lets find out.

Titanfall: Gameplay

As you’d expect from the minds behind the Call of Duty multiplayer behemoth - and indeed a game that attempts to mix giant mechs and jet-pack infantry in bloody battle - balance is crucial. And it becomes clear within a few hours that Titanfall is not only incredibly deep tactically, but also beautifully balanced.

The immediate thought where giant mechs and puny humans are involved, would be that the mech is the all-powerful end-game that everyone is playing towards. In actual fact, Pilots are just as potentially deadly to Titans as vice versa. A good Pilot can make short work of a Titan with the right position and equipment.
READ: Best Xbox One games: The ultimate list

A multiplayer game consists of six Pilots on each side, and a constantly respawning army of grunts (essentially AI controlled infantry). But rather than trying to build competent AI players, Titanfall uses grunts in the way MOBAs like League of Legends do - they’re there to create battle lines, to farm, and to make you feel like a bit of a badass.

Killing the opposing teams grunts will lower the countdown for your Titan, making them important targets in the early going in the first race to Titanfall. But killing grunts can also reveal your position to enemy pilots, and this dynamic creates a cat and mouse game among Pilots that forms the basis of Titanfall’s run-and-gun style.

They do some other nifty things too. Bust your way into a building and you might find two grunts wrestling it out, like the knife scene from Saving Private Ryan. Sometimes you’ll see them dragging the bodies of fallen comrades across a street, climbing walls like a toddler on a bid for freedom, or simply taking up firing positions. They’re made almost hilariously rubbish, to emphasise their purpose within the game.

Titanfall is refreshing in so many ways. Avoidance of death at all costs has created an online FPS culture of stat preservation and camping that turns many people away from online shooters.

But Titanfall embraces new ideas that make it accessible to anyone. Novice players can pick off grunts and still contribute to their team, receiving their Titan in due course. The lock-on smart pistol means that even those who struggle with dual-thumbsticks will be SWAT-ing people left right and centre.

When your Titan dies, you can eject and live on, or choose to go down fighting. If you die as a Pilot, you will respawn with the opportunity to use a Burn Card - a power-up for your next life, which could be anything from an overpowered version of a weapon, to unlimited cloak, to an instant Titan drop.

There’s a reason for this. As you will quickly realise, death is an unavoidable part of the fun in Titanfall. The aforementioned stat preservationists will struggle to find a spot where there aren’t at least 5 places they could be attacked from. That’s the nature of the game, run or die. And it’s brilliant.

Assassin's Creed 5 main character image leaked?

xl_Assassins-Creed-V-Poster-Leak-624.jpg
An image has leaked showing what some believe to be the main character for Assassin's Creed 5. The image is a leaked photo reportedly taken at Ubisoft Montreal.
The poster (courtesy of Gamespace) shows an as yet unseen Assassin holding what could be a hidden blade however gamers have already taken to the forums to speculate as to whether it is in fact a revolver.
Whilst Ubisoft has ruled out the prospect of feudel Japan or ancient Egypt there is still wide speculation that the next Assassin's Creed game could be set in Victorian London or indeed Revolutionary France.
A revolver would certainly support the idea of Victorian London however Ubisoft is staying silent on the matter so for now we'll have to rely on the image above and hearsay.
In a recent interview with Edge Magazine Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag had been built for Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 then ported to next-gen, whereas its latest venture Watch Dogs had been built for next-gen first.
This could suggest that Ubisoft is looking to create Assassin's Creed 5 exclusively for Xbox One and Sony PS4, of course that's just speculation.
